Paying it forward with a simple gesture
3. April 2009 by beckster.
Today, well actually let me back up a few days….
A few days ago I received an e-mail out of the blue from someone I did not know. This kind person said she had seen my posts on Facebook, (which links to this blog) was a friend of a friend, and wanted to send me an old postcard with a comet on it because she thought I would like it and would I send her my address.
Long story short, I sent her my snail address and today I recieved the wonderful card you see above.
I’m stunned! Not only is it beautiful, but I LOVE old postcards and I am smitten with comets. The card arrived in a plastic protector and the back of it indicates it was printed by the E.C. Krupp Co. of Milwaukee.
The card has seen some wear but it is unused and relatively unharmed. (The big white blob to the right of the comet’s tail is a worn spot.) And now it sits on my desk for me to marvel at.
I’m going to pay this simple gesture of goodness forward so stay tuned for that.
So, my 100 Hours of Astronomy is going splendidly! How about yours?
