Clouds don’t read
1. April 2009 by beckster.
It seems we “might” be in for a blizzard as the 100 Hours of Astronomy nears, so let’s HOPE it’s not going to be 100 Hours of snow!
By the simple act of buying a new telescope or piece of astro-gear, astronomer’s usually jinx the weather. Buy a scope and clouds will be knocking at the door. Try to celebrate 100 Hours of Astronomy and guess what, snowstorms……
I’m not too worried though. I reserved time on three major telescopes around the world–it’s not snowing everywhere! I also set up a small pinhole camera for the 100 hours to document the whole time period as seen from my yard.
I’ll let you know how the test drive goes in a day or so.
In the mean time, bundle up, get your hot chocolate brewing and study those star charts.
